BANGKOK,(NNT) – A large number of people scrambled to buy bus tickets at Bangkok Bus Terminal in the afternoon to return home during the New Year’s festival.
Transport Co.,Ltd has provided additional 8,500 bus trips from three terminals including New Southern Bus Terminal, Ekkamai Bus Terminal and Bangkok Bus Terminal to accommodate the large number of passengers.
Today’s number of passengers was expected to reach up to 170,000 while as many as 1.2 to 1.3 million passengers are expected throughout the festive season.
All public buses are to be inspected before leaving the terminals and the drivers are examined to see if they might possibly have drunk any alcoholic beverages.
Those who are headed to Bangkok Bus Terminal have been suggested to leave home at an earlier time than usual due to traffic jams in front of the terminal.
