Governor Chadchart joins the Sikh community to celebrate the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Sahib, honoring the beauty of cultural harmony in Bangkok.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, along with Surachit Phongsingwittaya, Chairman of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council, the Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs, representatives from the Catholic Church, the Sheikhul Islam Office, and the Siri Guru Singh Sabha Association (the Sikh religious institution of Thailand), participated in a grand celebration marking the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Sahib, the first Guru and founder of Sikhism.

The event, a significant occasion for Sikhs worldwide, was held at the Siri Guru Singh Sabha (Sikh Temple) in Phra Nakhon District. Governor Chadchart expressed his delight in joining the Sikh community for this important ceremony, highlighting the beauty of their culture, traditions, and commitment to preserving their religious practices. He also toured an educational exhibition showcasing the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Sahib.



Every year on November 15, Sikhs globally commemorate the birth of Guru Nanak Sahib with ceremonies and celebrations. This day serves as a reminder of his teachings and compassion, emphasizing a life rooted in truth and equality. Guru Nanak encouraged his followers to lead household lives while fostering a spiritually disciplined mindset. His philosophy is encapsulated in the principles of “Meditate, Earn Honestly, and Share Generously.”
