The 9-day ‘Bangkok Design Week 2022’ (BKKDW2022) features a stimulating array of over 200 activities spread throughout the five districts of Charoen Krung-Talat Noi, Samyan, Thong Lo-Ekkamai, Ari-Pradipat, and (participating in the annual event for the first time) Phra Nakhon.

The ‘Bangkok Design Week 2022’, is now taking place starting from 5 until 13 February, 2022, across five prominent districts of the Thai capital under the theme “Co With Creation”.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said “The ‘Bangkok Design Week 2022’ aims to encourage creativity and experimentation by many different creators to help creative businesses and communities generate income, as well as to highlight the impressive creativity that abounds throughout the Thai capital in various fields.”

Organised by the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organisation) or CEA together with state agencies, academia and international institutions, this year’s event is the fifth edition of what has become the largest design festival in Southeast Asia and which helps to promote Bangkok’s role – since 2019 – as a Creative City of Design in UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network (UCCN).

Activities range from new concept/prototype showcases and exhibitions, movie screenings, and musical performances to online talks and workshops by Thai and foreign creative thinkers, and a creative flea market encouraging sales opportunities and market trials.

The five districts are uniting under the BKKDW2022’s theme of “Co With Creation” through five agendas:

“Co with Space” Designs that deal with new problems and emerging challenges.

“Co with Mental Health” Designs that help soothe the pain brought on by COVID-19.

“Co with Eco” Designs that slow down the deterioration of the environment.

“Co with Culture” Designs that capture the culture and present it in a new and refreshing light.

“Co with Future” Designs that work with modern technology for a better future.

The ‘Bangkok Design Week 2022’ has been organised in accordance with health and safety measures stipulated by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and all participants are asked to kindly abide by these at all times.
