BANGKOK, Thailand – The National Children’s Day celebration at the Fire and Rescue Department in Bangkok was filled with joy and excitement as children gathered for a day of fun and learning. Held on the second Saturday of January, the event saw families bringing their children to join in the festivities at various locations across the city, including the fire stations in Phra Khanong and Bang Phlat districts.
At the Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department on Rama VI Road, a variety of engaging activities awaited the children, many of whom dressed as firefighters. Firefighters and rescue workers from Bangkok welcomed the little ones with smiles, guiding them through hands-on experiences such as jumping on inflatable mattresses, practicing rope climbing, riding fire trucks and fire motorcycles, and even trying out CPR life-saving techniques. The children also learned safety measures in a simulated fire escape scenario, with the support of the firefighters ensuring their safety throughout the activities.
Adding to the excitement, a special appearance by beloved superheroes delighted the children, while games and fun prizes, including tablets, bicycles, and stuffed toys, were handed out. Supakrit Boonkanth, Deputy Permanent-Secretary of Bangkok, along with local officials and Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department executives, participated in the prize draw, spreading joy among the kids and their families.
This year’s Children’s Day celebration at the Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department aimed to inspire young minds, especially those interested in becoming firefighters and rescue workers in the future, while ensuring a day full of fun and memorable experiences.
