BANGKOK, 1 November 2013  – Bangkok is gearing up for an influx of protesters from other provinces who will partake in rallies against the blanket Amnesty Bill near Samsen railway station.

Bangkok governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra said the capital is prepared to provide assistance to demonstrators including equipping their stronghold with mobile toilets and extra lighting.

He also confirmed that the provision of additional assistance will not be politically biased as all protesters who have held rallies in Bangkok have been accorded the same level of aid.

The National Security Council is closely monitoring the situation as more protesters are expected to arrive in Bangkok over the weekend. 150 police officers will be deployed to keep peace and order near the protest site.
