Bangkok Governor signs condolence book for Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter

Governor Chadchart Sittipunt signs the condolence book at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, honoring the life and legacy of President Jimmy Carter.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok Governor Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt signed the condolence book for Mr. Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, at the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, located on Wireless Road, Pathum Wan District on January 6.

Other distinguished individuals who signed the book included the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Thailand, the Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, and representatives from the Siam Piwat Group.

Mr. Jimmy Carter won the U.S. Presidential election on November 2, 1976, and assumed office as the 39th President on January 20, 1977. He was the first U.S. president to focus on climate change and established The Carter Center in 1982 to promote democracy and human rights worldwide. In 2002, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. President Carter passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100, in his home in Plains, Georgia.

Bangkok’s Governor and other dignitaries sign the condolence book to mourn the passing of the 39th U.S. President, Jimmy Carter, who passed away at age 100.
