PHNOM PEHN, 9 May 2012 – Bangkok Governor and his delegation have paid an official visit to Phnom Penh during May 8-10, to boost bilateral ties between the two cities.
MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra is set to hold talks with Phnom Penh Governor Kep Chuktema to discuss the progress on inter-city cooperation, following the signing of the agreement on the establishment of the sister cities between Phnom Penh and Bangkok in 2008.
MR Sukhumbhand said the City Hall will push ahead to improve municipal partnership between the two capitals, in preparation for the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.
The Bangkok governor said the meeting with Mr Chuktema is expected to produce a co-operative agreement that will create a friendlier diplomatic climate for the peoples of both countries.
