Dr Pairoj said people aged 60 and over, women who are 12 weeks pregnant or longer and anyone weighing 100kg or more can walk in for COVID-19 vaccination from 9am-5pm daily until 31 July.

Thailand’s Department of Medical Services (DMS) is offering an appointment-free COVID-19 vaccination service for vulnerable people at the Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok from 22 July.

DMS deputy director-general Dr Pairoj Surattanawanich said people aged 60 and over, women who are 12 weeks pregnant or longer and anyone weighing 100kg or more can walk in for COVID-19 vaccination from 9am-5pm daily until 31 July.

However, residents aged 60 and over, who are getting their jabs at vaccination points other than the station, must secure appointments through the City Hall-run “Thai Ruam Jai (Safe Bangkok)” online registration platform.

He said having as many people as possible from these vulnerable groups vaccinated will prevent severe symptoms and fatalities, adding that, as the outbreak situation remains critical, everyone needs to protect themselves by practicing social distancing, washing their hands frequently and wearing a face mask, even after they have been vaccinated.
