BANGKOK, Thailand – The Committee for the Study of Sustainable Road Safety and Accident Prevention, under the National Health Commission Office, led a road safety training program (Nov 23) in Bangkok to promote traffic discipline and reduce accidents. The event, which took place at Kasem Bundit University’s Romklao Campus, targeted students, vocational learners, motorcycle taxi riders, and general motorcycle users from the districts of Lat Krabang, Min Buri, Khlong Sam Wa, and Nong Chok.
The program included sessions on traffic laws and safety practices delivered by experts from the Department of Disease Control and traffic police officers from Min Buri Police Station. Participants received helmets in a formal distribution ceremony, which included a symbolic pledge made before a portrait of His Majesty the King.
To receive helmets, attendees were required to present valid driver’s licenses and vehicle insurance documents, aligning with the program’s effort to strengthen compliance with traffic regulations. The training aimed to provide attendees with practical knowledge, promote safer riding habits, and enhance enforcement efforts by linking each helmet’s serial number with its registered owner. (NNT)
