BANGKOK – The Office of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will invite street vendors in Bang Lamphu district to a meeting before footpaths in the district are cleared of unlawful obstructions.

BMA Chief Advisor Wanlop Suwandee and BMA Advisor Police Major General Wichai Sangprapai have revealed that a study is now underway to determine the possibility of decongesting the footpaths in Bang Lamphu, following a series of public complaints.

The BMA officials said the BMA will be fair in its handling of the problems addressed in the meeting, which is expected to be held late this month. Meanwhile, sidewalk clearing operations in Tha Prachan, Tha Chang and Tha Maharaj Roads are expected to be completed by November 29.

The BMA will later seek advice from the Crown Property Bureau and the Department of City Planning regarding the possibility of landscaping these areas to appeal to visitors and those using a boat service.
