Bangkok partners with Lions Club to support vulnerable groups on King Bhumibol Adulyadej Memorial Day

BANGKOK, Thailand Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt presided over the launch of a daily hardship relief project at Plukchit School, Rama IV Road, Pathumwan District on October 13. This initiative was organized in remembrance of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on the anniversary of his passing.

King Bhumibol Adulyadej, born on December 5, 1927, was the ninth monarch of the Chakri Dynasty, reigning for 70 years until his passing on October 13, 2016. His profound contributions to the health and welfare of his people are still deeply appreciated by the Thai nation.

Governor Chadchart expressed heartfelt gratitude for King Bhumibol’s unwavering dedication to the Thai people, particularly in the area of public health. He emphasized the importance of the ongoing efforts to improve the well-being of elderly and vulnerable groups in Pathumwan. The project, supported by the Lions Club Bangkok East District 310 D and other organizations, is dedicated to honoring King Bhumibol’s legacy by alleviating daily hardships.

The activities included free vision testing with prescription glasses, the donation of wheelchairs and walking sticks to the elderly, and a variety of other social initiatives. The event was attended by Dr. Methavee Tarndamrong, a Bangkok Council member representing Pathumwan, along with district officials, Lions Club members, and related organizations, who joined together to mark this meaningful occasion.
