BANGKOK, 5 November 2013 Bangkok police has asked Bangkok City Hall to help relay its request to the Democrat-led protesters who have moved from Sam Sen Train Station to the Democracy Monument.

Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Adul Narongsak on Monday met with Deputy Bangkok Governor Assawin Khwanmueang to hand over 4 proposals that will be forwarded to the protest leaders.

According to Police Major General Adul, he was asking the protest leaders to allow 2 lanes for traffic on Phan Fa Rd. and to ensure that protesters clear the way for the royal motorcades that will be making their ways to Phrasirattana Satsadaram Temple on November 10 and 18. Pol. Maj. Gen. Adul added that the vicinity of Democracy Monument is within Phranakhon district, which is covered by the internal security law.

The deputy Bangkok governor reportedly agreed to forward the Metropolitan Police’s proposals to the demonstration leaders.

Traffic around Democracy Monument was severely congested on Monday, despite a large number of traffic police helping to facilitate road traffic.
