BANGKOK, Thailand – Acting Bangkok Police Commissioner, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, has ordered a thorough investigation into seven traffic police officers accused of assaulting a civilian, leaving them injured. The officers have been temporarily suspended pending further evidence collection. Authorities are examining surveillance footage and body camera recordings to support the case.

The commissioner has also directed an inquiry into the legitimacy of the checkpoint where the incident occurred and whether senior officers were involved in ordering it. If misconduct is found, appropriate actions will be taken against the responsible supervisors. The case is also being reviewed for potential violations of the Enforced Disappearance Act.
