URGENT UPDATE: ALL BANGKOK MASSAGE PARLOURS TO REMAIN CLOSED AFTER ALL
Bangkok City Hall has announced the relaxation of its business closure order, now allowing museums, tattoo studios, nail salons, beauty clinics, spas, and parks to reopen from tomorrow (Tuesday June 1).
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has released their announcement on the relaxation of business closure order for COVID-19 control, now allowing more lower-risk venues to reopen starting tomorrow.
This decision has been made by the Bangkok Communicable Disease Committee chaired by the Governor of Bangkok Pol Gen Aswin Kwanmuang, as the majority of cases in Bangkok are currently from closed-off clusters, such as communities, markets, and construction camps, while no transmission has not been reported in certain other businesses.
In today’s announcement, the city hall lists five categories of businesses and venues allowed to reopen from tomorrow, with special measures in place to prevent transmission. The first category is museums and exhibitions, including learning centers, science parks, historical sites, and art galleries, where capacity control measures must be in place to prevent crowding.
The second category is tattoo and piercing studios, as well as nail salons. These establishment must implement strict transmission control measures. Each venue in this category is subjected to 14-days closure if a COVID-19 infection was reported.
Beauty clinics, including weight management clinics are allowed to reopen as the third category, as well as spas and massage parlors as the fourth category, where steaming and facial treatments are still not allowed.
The fifth and final category of venues to reopen tomorrow is parks and gardens. Visitors will not be allowed to gather in groups, or bring in food and drinks to consume, except for drinking water.
Other businesses and venues ordered closed from the previous announcements will remain closed until at least 14 June. (NNT)
