The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the private sector set up 14 locations for COVID-19 vaccination outside hospitals with the inoculation capacity of 20,500 jabs a day.
BMA’s COVID-19 vaccination committee chaired by Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang today approved COVID-19 vaccination in June for workers involved in disease control efforts.
They included police, military personnel, district office workers (street sweepers and garbage collectors), immigration officials at the Klong Toey checkpoint and workers at quarantine facilities and hospitels.
Besides, the vaccination will also include people with seven groups of chronic diseases, people aged 60 years old and over and general people.
The vaccination will happen at hospitals and other locations outside hospitals.
BMA received support from the private sector in setting up 14 inoculation units outside hospitals. They are Siam Cement Group in Bang Sue district, CentralPlaza Lardprao shopping center, The Mall Bangkapi shopping center, Robinson department store in Lat Krabang district, Lotus store in Min Buri district, Samyan Mitrtown, True Digital Park, Thanya Park, Asiatique, Central department store in Pinklao area, ICONSIAM shopping center, PTT gas station on Rama II Road, The Mall shopping center in Bang Khae district and Big C store in Bang Bon district.
The temporary inoculation units can serve altogether about 20,500 people a day. People can choose their convenient locations via the Mor Prom account that will start operating on the Line chat app on May 1. (TNA)
