BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Governor Chakkaphan inspected the storage site for confiscated and abandoned vehicles at the Nong Khaem Waste Management Center, following public complaints about vehicles left on roads and public spaces.
Since January 1, 2020, authorities have identified 1,513 abandoned vehicles in Bangkok. Owners relocated 1,252, while district offices removed 261. A total of 67 vehicles were fined, generating 123,000 baht, and 117 were auctioned for 749,000 baht.
The remaining vehicles are stored at the Nong Khaem site, where they are held for one year before being auctioned if unclaimed.
Currently, 67 vehicles remain in storage, with 34 eligible for auction. The first auction of 2025 is set for May 27, followed by the second on November 25.
