BANGKOK, April 4 – The current scorching hot weather is not only affecting humans – but animals also. They’re having a hard time!  To counteract the rising temperatures in Bangkok, the officials at Dusit Zoo have begun various activities for the animals to freshen up.

With temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius, a long list of activities are arranged for the zoo’s VIPs.

Animals native to Africa, such as giraffes, are able to cool off with strings of ice. Tigers, on the other hand, have special sprinklers installed in their living areas to help them make it through the hottest month on the calendar. Other animals such as the black tigers also enjoy eating frozen porklegs, while elephants enjoy the luxury of eating large ice cubes topped with syrup.

Activities are on Monday afternoons and on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. All activities cater to different types of animals living in the zoo in downtown Bangkok will be held throughout the merciless month of April.
