In honor of Mother’s Day, Bangkok’s Benchasiri Park is set to host an enchanting display of fountains and light shows from Aug 11 until the end of the month. Organized jointly by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the event pays tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother on the occasion of her 91st birthday, which falls on August 12.

As a cherished tradition, Mother’s Day in Thailand is celebrated on August 12 to commemorate the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.

Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the spectacle three times daily, with shows scheduled at 7 pm, 8 pm, and 9 pm, continuing until August 31. The park, conveniently accessible via the BTS Skytrain’s Prompong station, will welcome families to join in the festivities, with the Skytrain offering complimentary rides to passengers accompanied by their mothers on August 12.

According to Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, the event features informative displays that illuminate the Queen Mother’s enduring legacy and her unwavering dedication to the country.

Spanning 3 rai (approximately 4,800 square meters), Benchasiri Park, nestled in the heart of Bangkok, was inaugurated in 1992 as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s fifth cycle (60th birthday). (NNT)
