Betong bustling with tourists from Malaysia and Singapore

YALA, 20 February 2015 – Tourists from Malaysia and Singapore are flocking to the Thai District of Betong in Yala to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Their visits are expected to generate several millions of baht to local communities.

President of the Betong Tourism Association Udom Laksana said that this year’s Chinese New Year celebration was bustling with people as the holiday falls on a weekend. Buses of tourists are seen dropping passengers one after another at their hotels. Mr. Udom said all of the 4,000 hotel rooms in the district have been fully booked for Feb 20-22.
