‘Bike for Mom’ event attracts huge number of participants ahead of Mother’s Day

BANGKOK, 1 July 2015 – The “Bike for Mom” event, held in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 83rd birthday, has attracted a huge crowd of cycling enthusiasts and members of public in many provinces on the first day of registration.

In Ayutthaya, Governor Apichart Todilokvech was the first in line to register for the bike event. Nearly 100 million baht has been spent to create a cycling trail in and around Ayutthaya Island. Bikers participating in the event can view a number of historical sites along the 26.50 kilometer-trail.

In Nakhon Ratchasima, over 2,000 people have signed up the event online so far at www.bikeformom2015.com. Cyclists can register until July 9. The event is taking place on August 16 in the province, which will take cyclists through the City Hall and the famed Thao Suranaree Monument.

Around 1,000 students and locals registered for the event in Sakon Nakhon, which will also take place on August 16. The register period is from July 1 until July 15.
