BMA execs to attend water management conference in UK

BANGKOK, 3 July 2013 Representatives from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is preparing to attend an international conference on water management in the United Kingdom this weekend. 

Mr Wasant Meewong, Advisor to the Bangkok Governor, said that at the invitation of the British government, Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra and other BMA executives will depart for London during July 6-13 to attend the Policing in Global Cities Conference. He made known that water management techniques discussed at the conference are expected to be adopted as part of the Thai capital’s ongoing flood control measures.

Later this month, during July 16-23, MR Sukhumbhand will also pay a visit to the United States to receive the “World’s Best City” award from Travel and Leisure Magazine. Bangkok has maintained the leading position for several years in the survey of international travelers.

In addition, the Bangkok governor will present his accomplishments and projects for the first three months of his second term in office to the press on August 1.
