BANGKOK, 11 August 2014 – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has invited members of the public to attend activities hosted to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen’s 82nd birthday anniversary.
According to the BMA, a mass alms-giving ceremony will be organized in front of the City Hall tomorrow to mark the auspicious occasion. Nearly 200 monks will take part in the ceremony.
In the evening, BMA executives will light the holy candle to wish Her Majesty good health at 7.29 PM, the same time as the rest of the country.
Exhibitions will also be held displaying Her Majesty’s photographs and royal projects including the SUPPORT foundation, along Ratchadamnoen Avenue. Flowers and flags bearing Her Majesty’s initials will be put up along major roads.
The National Council for Peace and Order has earlier resolved to host festivities including free screenings of movies and documentaries about Her Majesty as well as light and sound performance in Bangkok’s Suan Amporn and Dusit Palace to celebrate the royal birthday.
