BANGKOK, 11 June 2012 -The Office of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is launching a new website called ‘BKK Flood Watch’ to provide online viewers with updates on flood crisis and prevention measures.
BMA Spokesperson Mr. Wasan Meewong said after meeting with BMA executives that the website will serve as a communication channel between the officials and Bangkok residents who want to keep themselves updated on the deluge.
The website also contains information on flood prevention strategies and the list of flood victims who have missed out on the compensation money. Viewers will also be able to look at the level of progress the BMA has achieved in protecting the city from the run-off as well as how many canals have been dredged up to make room for more water.
Daily updates and flood levels on streets and roads can also be found on the website too. The BMA’s own website is said to have been linked to the BKK Flood Watch for easy access to other information about the BMA.
