BMTA expects to receive the first batch of NGV buses this July

BANGKOK, 8 June 2015, The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) expects the first lot of 50 natural gas buses (NGV bus) to be delivered within next month.

According to acting BMTA Director Pranee Sugasorn, at present the 1.78 billion baht deal is being examined by the Office of the Attorney-General, after which it will be forwarded to the agency’s managing board for approval.

She expects to ink the deal with JVCC and Ch. Tawee Dollasian Public Co.Ltd., the bidding winners, within 2 weeks.

The first 50, out of 489 NGV, buses are expected to be delivered to the BMTA next month, she said, adding that the remaining 439 vehicles would be delivered in or before August.

The BMTA has also improved the condition of several roads and built natural gas filling stations for the fleet, said the Acting Director.
