SATUN, 23 April 2015 – A brainstorm meeting was held in Satun Province on Thursday with the participation of provincial authorities and the public, to jointly formulate a new city plan of Lipe Island.
The meeting, organized by the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, Ministry of Interior, provided a stage for Satun residents and provincial officials to widely share their opinions on the preferable development of the island. The new city plan also incorporates development of the nearby Sarai Island and part of Tanyongpo Subdistrict, paving ways for future tourism cooperation with neighboring Malaysia.
The Interior Ministry will soon hold a public hearing in the province in order to improve the current plan and ensure its practicality before Thailand enters into the ASEAN Economic Community at the end of this year.
