BANGKOK, July 4 — Thailand’s Deputy Permanent Secretary for Commerce Piramol Charoenphao chaired an event to destroy products in violation of intellectual property rights in the southern resort island of Phuket earlier today.
The seized goods were provided by Police Region 8, Police Region 9, as well as the Customs Office Region 4, with all goods confiscated through prevention and eradication measures against pirated products in the country.
Exactly 86,803 illegal products, worth Bt495 million, including pirated CDs, DVDs, watches, clothing, purses, leather goods and shoes were burnt at the Phuket Municipality’s main waste incinerator.
