BTS to run extended services on New Year Eve

BANGKOK, 20 December 2013 BTS operator has announced that the skytrain will extend its operating hours on New Year’s eve in a bid to facilitate revelers partaking in countdown festivities around Bangkok. 

Director and Chief Operating Officer of Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC) Surapong Laoha-Unya said BTS will run extended rail services until 2am on January 1 2014. The move is to allow Bangkok residents to party longer at countdown parties along the BTS routes and other places nearby.

The operator will also prepare Single Journey Tickets for passengers in advance in a bid to save commute time during the New Year period. The tickets will be available at Phayathai, Siam, Victory Monument and Asoke stations.

The BTSC will provide the One-Day Pass priced at 130 baht to facilitate passengers. The pass which will offer unlimited trips in one day can be purchased during December 31st, 2013 from 06:00 a.m. until 02:00 a.m. on January 1st, 2014.
