BURIRAM – Deputy Prime Minister Gen Thanasak Patimaprakorn and Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul visited Buriram province to follow up on the province’s readiness to host MotoGP 2018-2020.
Gen Thanasak and Kobkarn were welcomed by Buriram Governor Anusorn Keawkangwan and a group of local business people and state enterprise representatives at the provincial city hall. Gen Thanasak first presented a policy aimed at transforming the province into a global sports and tourism city.
Gen Thanasak later traveled to Chang International Circuit, which will be used as a venue to host MotoGP. He was briefed on the progress made to prepare the venue for the international event. The private sector also asked the government to improve roads, the airport, the transportation system and medical services to ensure a successful organization of the event.
Gen Thanasak believed the event would increase tourism activities and promote economic growth in the region.
