BURIRAM, 31 July 2015 – Buriram Province has held its Buddhist Lent ceremony at its SroewGround walking street in order to reflect Thai and Buddhist culture.
The ceremony was held by 18 collaborating districts in the province and inaugurated by Deputy Governor of Buriram Chalermpon Ponlawan.
The walking street also held a traditional Thai dance contest as well as a candle sculpting contest with the majority of contestants sculpting candles into figures from Thai literature or Buddhist scriptures.
The Lent ceremony paraded along the walking street and was admired by an array of tourists and local people.
