CHIANG MAI, 29 March 2015 – Regular scheduled buses to Chiang Mai during the Songkran holidays are now sold out, while passengers are advised to book advance tickets for the added bus services, recommends the Chiang Mai Transport Office.
According to the official off the Chiang Mai Provincial Land Transport Office Chanchai Keelapang, bus operators to Chiang Mai have started to provide advance booking services for the some 200 trips of added bus services, to and from Chiang Mai, during the Songkran holidays. All regular seats have been sold out.
He said that the public should plan their trip ahead and book for their tickets in advance, on the bus operators’ website or at the bus station to ensure they will be able to travel during the long holiday period, and to avoid a long wait to purchase the tickets on traveling date.
Bus operators have been called for a briefing on issues regarding the services during the holidays, added bus schedules, and for vehicle inspections. These measures have been designed to aid passengers in arriving at their destination safely with good service, and to assure that no passenger will be left behind, says the Chiang Mai Transport Office official.
