Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha says that a meeting of the cabinet ministers yesterday approved the draft budget for fiscal 2020, and insisted that the amount can be increased or decreased.
Prayut said documents detailing the fiscal 2020 budget are being given to Members of Parliament (MPs) for consideration.
Speaking of comments on social media about the budget allocation for each ministry, the prime minister said the issue is still in the initial stages, and has to be proposed to the House of Representatives for consideration.
He added that the ad hoc committee in charge of scrutinizing the budget bill will decide whether the amount of the budget can be raised or lowered.
