Cabinet meets early ahead of Prime Minister’s ITB Berlin visit

The prime minister will travel to Berlin from March 4 to 8 to represent Thailand at ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world’s largest tourism trade fairs.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Cabinet has rescheduled its weekly meeting to Monday, a day earlier than planned, to accommodate Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s upcoming visit to Germany for ITB Berlin 2025. The meeting covered several key issues, including a report on the recent repatriation of Uyghur individuals to Xinjiang, China. Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, Justice Minister Pol Col Thawee Sodsong, and Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa will present updates on the matter.



Other agenda items included discussions on the administration of the school milk program, a project to decommission fishing vessels for marine conservation, and a request for additional funds for Royal Rainmaking Chemical Production Units. The Cabinet also reviewed budget allocations for the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025, which is expected to enhance Thailand’s international cultural presence and attract tourists.

Following the meeting, the prime minister will travel to Berlin from March 4 to 8 to represent Thailand at ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world’s largest tourism trade fairs. She will meet with public and private sector stakeholders to promote Thailand’s tourism destinations and strengthen collaborations with international travel partners. Discussions will also focus on Thailand’s strategy to attract more visitors and enhance its position as a top global travel destination.
