The annual Red Cross Winter Fair will be held from December 28, 2016 to January 8, 2017 at the field behind City Hall. The popular fair sees large donations from the community to be raffled off and given as prizes in booths.
The President of the Chiang Mai Provincial Red Cross Monsuda Chamniprasart called on the community for donations to the event. “Unity Day to Help the Red Cross” will be held on December 8, 2016 at the Volunteer Defense Corps, Chiang Mai 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon to receive donated items such as motorcycles, bicycles, electric equipment, and clothes for the Chiang Mai Red Cross Association.

Monsuda urged everyone to donate to help those less fortunate. The Mucha Kachad Shop in this year’s Winter Fair will sell 9,000 charity Red Cross Lottery tickets at 80 baht each. Revenue is expected to reach 7.2 million baht. First prize is a sports car, second prize a pick-up truck, third prizes will be three 110CC motorcycles, fourth runner up prizes will be five half baht gold necklaces, 10 refrigerators as the sixth runner up, 10 televisions as seventh and 20 bicycles as eighth. There will be 180 prizes given out to those who have the last three digits of not more than 1,000 baht. The shop will also sell 200,000 Red Cross Fish at 20 baht each. The Provincial Red Cross hopes to raise 4 million baht at the event this year.
