AKP Phnom Penh, August 08, 2019 – Cambodia and Thailand have discussed potentials and cooperation in investment and connection between Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) and Laem Chabang Seaport in Chonburi province, said a news release of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
The discussion meeting between H.E. Tauch Chan Kosal, Secretary of State for Public Works and Transport, and Ms. Nongnuth Phetchratana, Special Advisor for Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Office took place yesterday in Phnom Penh.
The discussion primarily aims to facilitate maritime transport, and increase bilateral investment and trade volume of the two neighbours.
H.E. Tauch Chan Kosal requested the Thai side to further discuss with all stakeholders for detailed legal procedures for the cooperation.
The secretary of state also underlined the important cooperation to improve infrastructure access connecting the two countries, such as National Roads 5 and 48.
