Cambodia expresses acceptance of Thailand’s new government and cabinet

BANGKOK, 1 September 2014 – Cambodia has expressed acceptance of Thailand’s new government and cabinet according to the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO)’s policy and confirmed that is won’t allow anti-junta groups to use Cambodia as a base.

General Thanasak Pratimaprakorn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the position of Supreme Commander, led the army heads to officially visit Cambodia today (1 Sep) to try to convince the government there necessity of overthrowing a democratically elected leader in order to protect against what the junta believed would result in civil war.

The previous visit of Gen Tea Banh to Thailand was considered to be an action to show support for the junta.
