Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived at Wing 6 in Don Muang from Bali at 10.57am to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. He was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House this evening.
Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob and officials from the Foreign Ministry welcomed the Canadian prime minister at the military airport.
At 5.15pm Mr Trudeau will have a bilateral talk with Gen Prayut in the Ivory Room of the Thai Khu Fah Building in the compound of Government House.
Canada has been a member of APEC since its establishment in 1989 when there were 12 members including Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand and the United States.
Canada is the world’s 11th biggest economy. It has advanced technologies including environment-friendly ones such as clean energy technologies. Its people have high purchasing power and form a good market for products and services. (TNA)
