CDC chairman vows to perform with honesty

BANGKOK, 5 November 2014 – The newly-elected chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) has vowed to carry out his task with honesty and impartiality for the benefit of the people and the nation.

Mr. Borwornsak Uwanno, who has recently been appointed as chairman of the CDC, led members of the drafting committee in a swearing-in ceremony before the Emerald Buddha at Wat Phra Kaew, vowing to uphold honesty, justice, neutrality, and loyalty to the monarch and the nation.

After the ceremony, he urged members of the CDC and members of the National Reform Council (NRC) to work in unity and closely with one another.

He also promised to put the nation and the people’s interests before his own and to solve all existing problems in the society through reform.

In addition, Mr. Borwornsak encouraged members of the public to send in their suggestions and opinions regarding the permanent charter rewrite, so that the CDC could formulate a strong and effective constitution accepted by all sides.
