BANGKOK, 20 July 2015 – Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) Second Vice Chairman Manich Suksomchitra said the panel has finalized the main bulk of the new constitution and is fine-tuning the specific details of some sections.

The next process will entail an examination of all sections to ensure no contradictions and that they complement each other.

Mr Manich revealed that the drafting body will hold a meeting tomorrow to determine whether it would like to request an extension on its deadline.

The CDC will also invite representatives from the National Reform Council and the Cabinet who previously submitted amendment proposals to hear how the charter drafters have incorporated their recommendations in the final draft of the new constitution. The hearing is expected to take place between August 17-19.
