BANGKOK, 21 July 2015 -The Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) says it would definitely accept a new 30 day extension to its work time frame, as much still remains to be done.
CDC Spokesperson Gen Lertrat Ratanawanich said there remain numerous sections and procedures that need to be considered, such as the rearrangement of sections, ensuring continuity of various provisions as well as matters of reform and reconciliation which have yet to be completed. The CDC must then also publicize its reasoning behind its various amendments all within its work time frame.
Gen Lertrat said the CDC would have no reason to deny a 30 day extension. He noted however that the 30 days included numerous public holidays and that the CDC would realistically be left with around 20 additional working days.
