Bangkok – The Ministry of Culture will hold celebrations for Her Majesty the Queen Mother during Mother’s Week and encourage people to wear blue attire to express their allegiance.
A fashion show of royal and contemporary Thai dresses created by famous designers will be held along with a news conference on the occasion of Her Majesty’s 87th birthday anniversary on August 12.
Culture Minister Itthiphol Khunpluem will preside over the opening ceremony of the celebrations at the Icon Siam shopping center on August 8. An exhibition of Khon Chalerm Prakiat performances, music and singing will be held as well as the fashion show,
Meanwhile, the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand under Royal Patronage will organize Mother’s Day 2019 and host a royal luncheon for over 500 needy and underprivileged persons, and children with disabilities. Activities to celebrate the royal occasion will take place in all 76 provinces of Thailand until August 31.
