Channel 5 cameraman killed in action in Nakorn Ratchasima

NAKORN RATCHASIMA, 10 April 2013  A channel 5 cameraman was killed and seven reporters injured in a traffic collision while covering a story on reinforced road safety measures during the Songkran festival. 

According to eye witnesses and police, a pick-up truck overtook another vehicle before crashing into a parked channel 5 truck carrying the news crew in Seekew district of Nakorn Ratchasima on Wednesday. A cameraman, identified as Sunet Thawalee, was killed instantly, while seven other reporters were rushed to a nearby hospital.

The news team had been covering the opening of a road safety center in the province, which was chaired by Transport Minister Chadchart Sitthiphant.
