Uthai Thani – Thailand’s Minister of Transport Arkhom Termpittayapaisith has presided over a ceremony relating to the construction of a bridge connecting Chai Nat and Uthai Thani. The bridge, crossing the Chao Phraya River, will shorten trips between the two provinces by more than 25 kilometers.
The bridge is located in Mano Rom district of Chai Nat and Mueang district of Uthai Thani. At the event, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Transport Kritthep Simphli said this 890-meter reinforced concrete bridge will carry two lanes of traffic and is being constructed with a budget of 488 million baht by the Department of Rural Roads. Once completed, it will help commuters travel more conveniently and faster.
The bridge will also help promote important tourist sites in the provinces, such as Wat Tha Sung in Mueang district, Uthai Thani. The construction is more than 85% complete with an official opening expected in June this year.
