BANGKOK, 19 December 2013 The Chartthaipattana Party has indicated that a government yielded from the upcoming election may be short-lived, as it would exist mainly to serve the purpose of reforming the country and pulling it through the current political turmoil.
Party executive Somsak Pritsanananthakun said on Wednesday that his party was developing a policy focusing on ‘looking over differences and jointly reforming Thailand’. According to the policy, the party will propose methods to solve the country’s current plights. Mr. Somsak noted that the administration yielded from the upcoming general election might only stay in office for a short while, because it would be in office primarily to tackle the current conflicts within the country and to conduct political reform.
Also on Wednesday, former Phuea Thai Party member of parliament Mingkhwan Saengsuwan submitted a resignation letter to the party and discussed his resignation with party executives. Mr. Mingkhwan said the party executives respected his decision, and explained that he had to hold a press announcement about him quitting the party because the party would have to disclose its list of candidates soon. He also asserted he would not move to any other party during this period.
