Nomad List, a database website for remote workers, has updated its ranking of the places that digital nomads from around the world have chosen most often. The evaluation is based on cost of living, internet speed, fun, and safety. Chiang Mai and Bangkok in Thailand take the first and second places, respectively, out of a total of 328 places worldwide.
The top ten places for the digital nomad community, as of 3 November 2023, are as follows:
- Chiang Mai (Thailand);
- Bangkok (Thailand);
- Canggu, Bali (Indonesia)
- Azores (Portugal);
- Penang (Malaysia);
- Zagreb (Croatia);
- Timisoara (Romania);
- Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia);
- Ko Pha Ngan (Thailand);
- Buenos Aires (Argentina).
According to the Nomad List, Chiang Mai and Bangkok have outstanding scores in the factors of cost of living and internet speed. The average monthly cost of living for a nomad in Chiang Mai is US$1,107, with an average internet speed of 56 Mbps, and Bangkok with US$1,398 and 73 Mbps. (NNT)
