CHIANG MAI, Thailand – Chiang Mai residents have faced fluctuating weather conditions for three consecutive days, with cold winds and light but continuous rainfall across the province, November 8. The combination of light rain and chilly winds has further lowered temperatures, especially impacting those who need to venture outdoors, prompting the need for jackets, raincoats, and umbrellas.
The Northern Meteorological Center reported that this weather pattern results from a moderately to strong high-pressure system from China covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea, along with westerly winds from Myanmar moving into the northern region. These conditions are bringing cool mornings with sporadic rain in northern areas, particularly in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Mae Hong Son.
Residents are advised to take care of their health during this period of changing weather.
In Chiang Mai, temperatures in the morning are cool, with a 20% chance of rain across the area. The minimum temperature is around 18°C, while the maximum is 27°C. On mountain peaks, temperatures can drop to 8-11°C. (TNA)
