Government organizations and key foundations in Northern Thailand recently hosted the Krubajao Sriwichai Statue Consecration Ceremony at the Himma Prestige Living Project in Chiang Mai. The event was well-attended by ambassadors and consuls general from over ten countries, members of the Upper Northern Senate Committee, and numerous local citizens.

This ceremony was organized as part of a campaign to recognize Krubajao Sriwichai, a venerated Thai religious leader, as a figure of worldwide cultural, educational, and religious relevance through UNESCO.

The focal point of the ceremony was the consecration of three large 30-inch statues, alongside several smaller ones and commemorative coins. These artifacts, along with documents vital for Buddhist rituals and texts, were handed over to international delegates. This distribution was intended to facilitate their placement across various countries, supporting the bid for UNESCO recognition of Krubajao Sriwichai.

In addition to the religious proceedings, the ceremony incorporated various cultural and philanthropic activities, such as releasing livestock and donating scholarships and funds to local healthcare and educational facilities. The entire event was broadcast live, thereby broadening its reach and impact and promoting the teachings and cultural heritage of Buddhism on a global scale. (NNT)
