Chiang Mai officials pledged to track down two men who repeatedly raced jet skis on the Ping River, annoying neighbors and upsetting fishermen.
A video of the daredevils was posted to a Chiang Mai Facebook this week. It showed the racers flying down the river at high speed, their loud engines disturbing homeowners along the banks.
Worse, the wake from the two jet skis sent small fishing boats reeling, with anglers holding on for dear life.
Residents in the San Peesua neighborhood of Muang District said speedboats are not allowed on that part of the Ping River. They appealed to the Marine Department to take action.
Officers promised to investigate and prosecute the pair if they are found.
