Chiang Mai Communicable Disease Committee ordered the closure of pubs, bars and other entertainment venues, effective today after the number of Covid-19 cases had increased.
The order also applies to karaoke shops, massage parlours, bowling alleys, billiards halls, game and internet cafes.
Sport stadiums, fitness centers and gyms are allowed to open until 9pm and dining-in at restaurants must stop at 11pm.
The order, which took effect from July 20 responded to an increase in COVID-19 cases in various areas of Chiang Mai.
Meanwhile, lockdown rules including travel curb have taken effect in Samut Sakhon. The province today reported 814 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours.
In Ayutthaya, checkpoints have been set up to restrict people’s movement. Ayutthaya is one of 13 provinces, designated as the dark-red zone, in which a curfew from 9pm-4pm is imposed in a bid to prevent Covid-19. (TNA)
