CHIANG MAI – Chiang Mai Province and the Ministry of Commerce will be hosting the region’s first Top Thai Brands fair on 26-30 August 2015 at CMECC.
The Vice Governor of Chiang Mai Supachai Iamsuwan and the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) Auramon Supthaweethum held a press conference on the organization of the Top Thai Brands fair on 26-30 August 2015 at Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC).
The DIP Deputy Director-General has said that over 450 entrepreneurs have been selected to showcase their products at this event from a pool of export-capable entrepreneurs, SMEs business owners, and OTOP entrepreneurs.
Products featured in this fair range from home decor, attires, foods and drinks, consumable products, consumer goods, jewellery, cosmetics and beauty products to contemporary handicrafts, and services.
The event is expected to draw more than 50,000 visitors, and help circulate up to 200 million baht within the Chiang Mai Province. The event will also feature an exhibition in honour of Her Majesty the Queen for her encouragement of Thai textiles and rice production, seminars on topics related to branding and business management. The exhibition will also feature business matching sessions, connecting local entrepreneurs to 200 foreign businessmen.
The Vice Governor of Chiang Mai says the region’s first Top Thai Brands fair will be a good opportunity for the big entrepreneurs, SMEs business owners, and OTOP entrepreneurs to learn about product development of successful entrepreneurship on the global stage.
He has said that hosting the Top Thai Brands fair will reflect Chiang Mai’s capability and readiness in becoming Thailand’s economic center of the northern region, as well as branching out to neighbouring countries such as Laos, Myanmar, and China.
