CHIANG MAI, Thailand – Chiang Mai Zoo has transformed into a spooky wonderland for Halloween, with staff members dressed as ghosts to greet visitors, Oct 31.

Zookeepers and staff, including Director Wuttichai Muangman who dressed as Count Dracula, handed out candy to children and interacted with visitors in various spooky costumes. Animals, such as the pygmy hippos, were also treated to Halloween-themed treats like carved pumpkins.

“The Halloween event will run from October 31 to November 3,” said Wuttichai.

Meanwhile, the zoo is actively preparing to welcome a new pair of pandas from China to serve as goodwill ambassadors.

The zoo is currently evaluating whether the existing panda enclosure, previously occupied by the late Chung Chung and Lin Hui, can be refurbished to accommodate the new pandas.

Alternatively, the zoo may construct a new enclosure, a process that is expected to take some time. (TNA)
